Bethesda announced tonight that as of this morning, Starfield has surpassed 6,000,000 players already, making it the biggest Bethesda launch to date. This is a huge moment for the Bethesda Game Studios team, who have been working on Starfield for the larger part of a decade.
The game was originally announced at E3 2018 and was initially scheduled to release in 2021. After the acquisition of Bethesda by Microsoft, the game received a few delays, ultimately leading it to a September 6, 2023, release date. This was for the best, though, as most players agree unanimously it is the most polished title the studio has put out to date.
Starfield Becomes Biggest Bethesda Game Launch Ever
Previous games launched by Bethesda include The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Redfall, Hi-Fi Rush, and more. The company has multiple studios including BGS, Arkane, and Tango Gameworks. The achievement of over 6,000,000 players after one day for Starfield is astounding, and it is something that is large in part to Xbox Game Pass. Even without it, though, we expect this still possibly could have been the studio’s largest release to date.
