Sword of the Vagrant developer O.T.K games and publisher Thermite Games announced branching-narrative beat em’ up Detained: Too Good for School will release in 2024 for PC via Steam. Detained: Too Good for School will support various languages so players around the world may enjoy the new title.
Sword of the Vagrant was very well received on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam. Earlier this year, a physical edition of Sword of the Vagrant was revealed, and the game’s next title will continue the momentum of O.T.K Games in 2024.
Detained: Too Good for School is Action-Packed
In Detained: Too Good for School, players control a gritty schoolgirl that spent six months in juvenile detention. The death of her brother sends into a rage, and she’s now going to release her aggression on the underworld inhabitants of Swinster City. Players will fight hordes of enemies in a fast-paced beat ’em up title and take advantage of a vast selection of craftable weapons and accessories. The protagonist also has access to more than 90 unlockable and upgradeable skills. She may classes to unlock new perks, train at gyms, and participate in part-time jobs and side-quests for extra cash.
The heroine may also fall in love with one of eight romanceable characters of multiple genders. Going on dates lets her unlock story scenes and a new ally in battle. These partners and other recruitable NPCs are vital toward completing challenging raids against Swinster City’s most powerful opponents. If desired, players may take out their frustrations on normal citizens, but the police will be promptly notified.

“What we kept hearing from thousands of fans of our last title The Vagrant was that they loved the combat, but wanted more options and things to do,” says Canlin Liu, Producer at O.T.K. Games. “So we took the combat engine from The Vagrant and made it feel even better, with more creative ways to pummel enemies and even more reasons to do so in the expansive world.”
Lastly, Detained: Too Good for School releases on Steam for PC in 2024 with English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, French, Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish (EU), and Portuguese (Brazil) language text and interface support.
