    Gintama on Theater 2D Baragaki Arc Movie Announced

    A new website by BN Pictures is now live, revealing that the new Gintama on Theater 2D Baragaki Arc compilation movie will premiere in Japanese theaters this November. As the name suggests, this new movie will adapt Gintama’s Baragaki arc from the anime with new content.

    Hideki Sorachi’s popular Gintama series began with the manga in 2004. The manga ran until June 2021 with an impressive 17-year run. In addition, the 3-Nen Z-Gumi Ginpachi-Sensei spin-off novel series will receive a new anime adaptation, and the Baragaki arc compilation movie is on the way.

    Gintama on Theater 2D Baragaki Arc will premiere on November 10 in Japan and run for three limited weeks. The special anime compilation film will include re-edits of the Baragaki arc anime episodes with bonus content such as additional scenes. The official website is now live with a story synopsis, and information about participating Japanese theaters and exclusive merchandise will be revealed at a later date.

    Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #40 teases that a new Gintama 20th anniversary project will be announced in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #41. Issue 40 released today in Japan, and Issue 41 releases on September 11. More details about the compilation film and additional projects will likely come in the weeks and months to come. Fans may also look forward to Jump Festa 2024 this December, which will feature Gintama in one of the main stage events.

    Fans may catch up with the Gintama anime right now by streaming the series on Crunchyroll. A total of 382 episodes are available to watch on the platform. Moreover, the Gintama: The Very Final anime movie is available to stream as well. Manga volumes may be purchased at VIZ Media.
