Guilty Crown and Psycho-Pass music band EGOIST announced that the group is disbanding after its last live performance this October. The lead vocalist will continue to perform after the unit ceases activities, however.
EGOIST originally formed in 2011 as fiction-based music group for the Guilty Crown anime series. The band’s success extends past Guilty Crown with theme song contributions for Psycho-Pass, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, BUILD-DIVIDE -#000000- CODE BLACK, and many more anime titles. Unfortunately, the group’s days are numbered with only a few live performances set for this fall.
EGOIST Disbanding After Performances This Fall
EGOIST vocalist chelly shared an official statement on her X (Twitter) account, confirming that the unit is disbanding and ceasing activities. The group will hold its last live performances on September 23 in Osaka and October 9 in Kanagawa. Afterwards, chelly will continue to perform as a solo artist under the name reche. reche has been performing as a solo act since June 2021, and she hopes fans will continue to support her.
As previously discussed, Psycho-Pass Providence stars the iconic duo of Akane Tsunemori and Shinya Kogami. Kana Hanazawa and Tomokazu Seki reprise their roles as Akane and Shinya respectively. Additionally, Production I.G. produced the new Psycho-Pass film with lead director Naoyoshi Shiotani. Psycho-Pass Providence debuted in Japanese theaters on May 12, garnering positive reception from critics and fans alike. EGOIST performed the ending theme song “Toujisha (The Person Concerned)” for the film.
Finally, Psycho-Pass Season 3 and the Psycho-Pass 3: First Inspector are now available to stream on Crunchyroll, offering nearly six hours worth of anime. The third season was made available outside of Amazon Prime Video for the first time this past July, allowing viewers to watch all three seasons consecutively on Crunchyroll. Moreover, the third season and movie are available with English, Spanish (LATAM), Portuguese (Brazil), French, German, and Italian subtitles.
