    Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 Resolution and Frame Rate Revealed

    1080p targeted on all platforms.

    Konami reveals resolution and frame rate targets for Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 on consoles and PC, including Nintendo Switch. Surprisingly, the game will not run at 4K on current generation systems like PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. 

    Most recently, Konami confirmed that Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 will be coming to PlayStation 4 after all. This version will be digital-only unlike the rest of the console versions, however. More details regarding the console and PC versions have been revealed today.

    Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 Resolution and Frame Rate

    Konami reached out to VGC to provide resolution and frame rate targets for on Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 consoles and PC. The Nintendo Switch version will run at 30 FPS in both docked and handheld modes. All other platforms will run the game at 60 FPS, but native 4K is not support.

    Here’s a list of performance targets according to VGC:

    • All platforms except Switch – 1080p / 60 frames per second target
    • Switch (docked mode) – 1080p / 30 frames per second target
    • Switch (handheld mode) – 720p / 30 frames per second target

    As previously reported, Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 includes the original Metal Gear Solid game, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Moreover, the collection includes Metal Gear (MSX, NES), Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake (MSX), and Metal Gear: Snake’s Revenge (NES). The original Metal Gear Solid title will include VR Missions and Special Missions, and Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater are based off of their HD Collection versions.

    Metal Gear SolidMetal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater may be purchased separately. Metal Gear (MSX, NES), Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake (MSX), and Metal Gear: Snake’s Revenge are exclusive to the collection. Pre-orders include three bonus music tracks: THE BEST IS YET TO COME (Master Collection ver.), CAN’T SAY GOODBYE TO YESTERDAY (Master Collection ver.), and SNAKE EATER (Master Collection ver.). 

    Lastly, Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 launches October 24 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
