It has been a momentous day for Mario fans, as just a few hours ago, Nintendo officially announced that Charles Martinet would no longer be voicing Mario after almost 30 years of service. Nintendo also confirmed that Martinet would not be voicing Mario in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. The company will likely reveal more information on the future of Mario’s voice in the coming weeks.
“Charles Martinet has been the original voice of Mario in Nintendo games for a long time, as far back as Super Mario 64,” Nintendo said in an official statement. “Charles is now moving into the brand-new role of Mario Ambassador.
