Shanghai-based studio XD Games announced fantasy tactical RPG Sword of Convallaria will release in fall 2023 for Android, iOS, and PC via Steam. Pre-registration is now live across all three platforms, and more details were revealed.
Sword of Convallaria is inspired by classic Square Enix RPGs such as Tactics Ogre and Final Fantasy Tactics. The new title features 300 maps, 1,000 stages, multiple endings, and stunning pixel art for its many characters. Moreover, the developers recently held an interview with JRPG veteran Yasumi Matsuno to share more details about Sword of Convallaria.
Sword of Convallaria Pre-Registration Now Live
XD Games plans to release Sword of Convallaria this fall, and pre-registration is now available. Sword of Convallaria will be free with in-app purchases. The game’s story begins with players arriving in Iria, a small nation on the continent of Rodinia. Players wake up in a dungeon and escape into Convallaria, a town that is in jeopardy due to the ongoing conflict in Iria. Players will become the leader of the Sword of Convallaria mercenaries, make difficult choices, and deal with different factions in order to secure peace for the nation.

What’s more, the game includes a stellar cast of voice actors include Kazuhiko Inoue, Aoi Yuuki, and Takuya Eguchi. Additionally, the game’s soundtrack is scored by Hitoshi Sakimoto, the famous composer for Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy XII. Sakimoto’s colleague and fellow JRPG veteran, Yasumi Matsumo, interviewed Sword of Convallaria’s producer Lei Guo at Famitsu to discuss the title at length. Guo explains that the game is developed with passion for the genre and classic retro-style pixel art.
