Pokémon Scarlet & Violet The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC Trailer Reveals Returning Starters, More

The Pokémon Company has released a new trailer for the upcoming DLC for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, titled The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero. The trailer reveals returning starters, new moves, and more.

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 1, The Teal Mask, will release on September 13. Part 2, The Indigo Disk, will release in Winter 2023. Both DLCs are available for pre-order now on the Nintendo eShop.

Returning Starters, New Attacks, and New Transformations

The newest trailer for the Pokémon Scarlet & Violet: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC reveals that several starters from prior Pokémon games will be making a return. These starters include:

• Generation 1 Starters
  • Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle.
• Generation 2 Starters
  • Cyndaquill, Chikorita, and Totodile
• Generation 3 Starters
  • Torchic, Treecko, and Mudkip
• Generation 4 Starters
  • Chimchar, Turtwig, and Piplup
• Generation 5 Starters
  • Tepig, Snivy, and Oshawott
• Generation 6 Starters
  • Fennekin, Chespin, and Froakie
• Generation 7 Starters
  • Litten, Rowlet, and Popplio
• And lastly, Generation 8 Starters
  • Scorbunny, Grookey, and Sobble

The new trailer also revealed new attacks to be added to the game. First, there’s “Psychic Noise,” a move that deals damage and prevents enemies from healing. Additionally, there’s the attack called “Upper Hand.” Upper Hand is a move that can strike before the target’s priority move.

The trailer hints at several more attacks that will no doubt change the meta of the entire game. The last thing that the trailer hints at is more Terrastal transformations. Expect more information about the new transformations, attacks, and Pokémon to be revealed in the coming weeks and months.

Part 1 of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero will release on September 13, 2023. Part 2 will release at some point in Winter later this year. Pre-orders for both are available now on the Nintendo eShop for $34.99.
