EA has announced that Xbox One and PS4 ports of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor are being developed. The announcement comes almost four months after the release of the original game.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is the sequel to Respawn’s hit game, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The game is a third-person action game with soulslike elements and a story that all Star Wars fans will enjoy. While Jedi Survivor was received well, it was filled with bugs and game-breaking issues that dampened the experience. It remains to be seen how a last-gen port will fix these problems.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor for Xbox One and PS4
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is one of the first true current-gen only games released on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. With the game releasing on older consoles, that metric includes one less game. Supposedly Respawn is in the early stages of the porting process. As a result, don’t expect the game to be released on last gen consoles until early 2024.
EA CEO Andrew Wilson said, “Thanks to the strength of this legendary franchise and community demand, our development team has committed to bringing this Jedi experience to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.” Additionally, Respawn is working on adding fixes to the best game that should be rolled out soon.
On the official PlayStation store, the game is described as follows:
“The story of Cal Kestis continues in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, a third-person galaxy-spanning action-adventure game from Respawn Entertainment, developed in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games. This narratively-driven, single-player title picks up five years after the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order™ and follows Cal’s increasingly desperate fight as the galaxy descends further into darkness. Pushed to the edges of the galaxy by the Empire, Cal will find himself surrounded by threats new and familiar. As one of the last surviving Jedi Knights, Cal is driven to make a stand during the galaxy’s darkest times – but how far is he willing to go to protect himself, his crew, and the legacy of the Jedi Order?”
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game will be released soon on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
