NieR: Automata Ver1.1a Episodes 9 through 12 have arrived, and Aniplex confirm even more episodes are on the way in a second cour. The second cour will begin right after the events of the first with episode 13 soon.
NieR: Automata Ver1.1a made its debut January 7 as an anime adaptation of NieR: Automata game with additional scenes & context. Produced by A-1 Pictures, the anime tells the stories of YoRHa androids 2B, 9S, and A2 in a dystopian Earth taken over by machine lifeforms. Some NieR: Automata Ver1.1a episodes would be delayed due to production impacts caused by coronavirus. Fortunately, Episodes 9 through 12 were released all at once today to catch viewers up and prepare them for the second cour.
A new trailer released by Aniplex and A-1 Pictures offers a preview into the second cour of NieR: Automata Ver1.1a. In the preview, new scenes adapt major moments from the latter half of NieR: Automata into anime form. The anime’s official Twitter account also reiterates the decision to produce a second cour, but further details about production and a release date were not revealed.
