The first Kombat Pack for Mortal Kombat 1 will include the following characters: Takeda, Quan Chi, Ermac, Omni Man, Peacemaker, and Homelander. Quan Chi and Ermac are series veterans. They’ve been a part of the Mortal Kombat franchise since its early days. Takeda was first introduced in Mortal Kombat X. He’s Kenshi’s son, raised by Scorpion to uphold their principles.

Guest characters have been a part of Mortal Kombat since the reboot released in 2011. That game featured Freddy Krueger and Kratos from God of War. Its sequel, Mortal Kombat X, featured the Predator, the Alien, Leatherface, and Jason Vorhees. Mortal Kombat 11 was themed around action heroes, including RoboCop, the Terminator, Spawn, Rambo, and The Joker from DC Comics.

Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack focuses on comic book characters and returning fighters. So far, there’s Peacemaker from DC Comics, Omni-Man from Image Comics’ Invincible, and Homelander from Garth Ennis’ The Boys. All three characters have made a name for themselves in several TV shows named after the characters. Mortal Kombat 1 will mark the first time they’ve been playable in a video game.

The announcement comes alongside the reveal of Li Mei, Baraka, and Tanya as part of the main roster in Mortal Kombat 1. Expect to hear more news about Mortal Kombat 1‘s roster in the coming weeks and months.

Mortal Kombat 1 will release on September 19, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch. For more information about San Diego Comic-Con 2023, check out our official tag here.
