Bandai Namco has officially revealed that Claudio Serafino will return in Tekken 8. The announcement comes just a day before Tekken 8‘s official San Diego Comic-Con panel.
PlayStation and Bandai Namco America first officially announced Tekken 8 in September 2022. While a release date is currently unknown, fans should expect to see more information about the future of Tekken at San Diego Comic-Con and EVO 2023.
Time to Get “Sirius”
Serafino was first introduced into the Tekken franchise in Tekken 7. He’s an exorcist that somehow holds the key to defeating the devil gene that both Jin Kazama and Kazuya Mishima possess. He uses a combination of magic attacks and close-quarters combat.
His playstyle in Tekken 8 seems to mirror his abilities in the game’s predecessor. He appears to be much more aggressive and brutal, like other characters introduced in the game thus far. His attacks and supers make him starkly contrast to characters like Bryan Fury and Hwoarang and will undoubtedly cement Serafino as an exciting addition to Tekken 8‘s gameplay meta.
The official website describes Tekken 8 as follows:
A Fighter for a New Generation
Powered by Unreal Engine 5 and exclusively available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC Digital, TEKKEN 8 pushes the limits of new-gen hardware and technologies. The game features high-definition character models built from the ground up with high-fidelity skin and hair, along with immersive graphics such as muscles that shift to reflect character movement.
New Game, New Rivalry
The TEKKEN series holds the record of being the longest-running story in a video game franchise. Just as the ending dialogue of Tekken 7 mentioned, this new entry will focus on the father-and-son showdown between Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama.
Tekken 8‘s release date is currently unknown. However, the game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Expect to hear more information about the game’s roster and release date in the coming weeks and months.
