The Pokémon Company has officially revealed the first look at the dub for their new show, Pokémon Horizons: The Series. The reveal comes from their official San Diego Comic-Con panel. A sneak peek of the first episode and a new trailer were also released alongside the reveal.
Pokemon Horizons: The Series is a new show from Pokémon. Ash Ketchum is not the main focus for the first time in decades. Instead, two new characters take up the role of series protagonists. The first episode will be dubbed and released for all audiences later this year.
A New Adventure from the World of Pokémon
While the entire dub cast is unknown, fans can hear recognizable voice actors and actresses throughout the new trailer. Pokémon Horizons focuses on a journey of self-discovery as protagonist Liko seeks to learn more about herself. On the other hand, Roy, the other main protagonist of the series, aims to become a Pokémon trainer in his own right. The new anime seeks to adapt several Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet elements. Passionate viewers can spot a few familiar Pokémon throughout the trailer. The new characters and Pokémon will be an exciting contrast to Ash Ketchum and Pikachu from the original series. Liko and Roy will undoubtedly become beloved in their own right over time.
Speaking of Ash Ketchum, the San Diego Comic-Con Pokémon panel also announced a new season of Pokémon Ultimate Journeys. The final episodes, releasing on Netflix on September 8, will send off Ash and his Pikachu with a bang. A trailer was released alongside the announcement, promising a fitting ending to Ash’s nearly twenty-five-year-long journey. Expect to hear more information about the last season of Pokémon Ultimate Journeys closer to its release.
Pokémon Horizons will be dubbed and released later this year. The last season of Pokémon Ultimate Journeys will be released on September 8, 2023.
