Ryu’s Office announced the INDIE Live Expo 2023: Summer Spotlight showcase will be held on Monday, July 31, at 2:30 a.m. PST / 5:30 a.m. EST / 6:30 p.m. JST. The upcoming showcase will feature several new indie game announcements and updates from Japanese developers and studios around the world.
After the highly successful INDIE Live Expo 2023 two-day event, Ryu’s Office revealed the event would return in the summer with a special “Summer Spotlight” event. Now, Ryu’s Office revealed more details about what fans can expect at the event soon. INDIE Live Expo’s Summer Spotlight will end July 2023 by offering a new style of show derived from the annual event. The summer program will feature more than 50 games, and the “INDIE Waves” segment returns to offer rapid-fire updates on several games.
“Indie developers are a passionate group, and we think every indie game deserves a close look,” said Ryuta Konuma, Founder of Ryu’s Office. “We’re changing the formula up for Summer Spotlight to accomplish that, and we can’t wait for viewers to take a journey with us into the inner workings of our favorite submissions!”

INDIE Live Expo 2023: Summer Spotlight will be streamed live across various social media and streaming platforms on July 31. These platforms include YouTube, Twitch, Twitter Live, Niconico, and Bilibili. Unlike INDIE Live Expo 2023, the summer program will only be for one day.
Additionally, Ryu’s Office confirms the program will be roughly an hour long. Once more, Summer Spotlight will include more than 50 games, including world premieres and updates for previously-released indie games.
