HoYoverse announced Honkai: Star Rail Version 1.2 is now available to pre-download ahead of the update’s launch on Wednesday, July 19. The pre-download function is currently available in the PC and mobile versions of Honkai: Star Rail.
The new Version 1.2 update will bring several playable characters, new story quests, and much more to Honkai: Star Rail in just a few days. Players can get a head-start in the installation process by pre-downloading the new update right now. Successfully pre-downloading the update will reduce the installation time on launch day.
How to Pre-Download Honkai: Star Rail Version 1.2
Honkai: Star Rail players may pre-download Version 1.2 from the launcher after the game has been successfully downloaded on PC. The “Game Pre-Installation” button may be found next to the “Start Game” button after opening the launcher. Clicking “Get Now” will start the download process. Players may continue to play Honkai: Star Rail while the download process continues on PC. The pre-download process is slightly different in the Android and iOS versions, however.
In the mobile version of Honkai: Star Rail, players must launch the title and press the “Resource Pre-Download” button in the bottom-right corner of the login screen to begin the download process. Unlike the PC version, mobile players will be unable to play the game until the download process is complete. Additionally, mobile devices will still need to download the latest client to experience the new version content.
The pre-download file size appears to be 11 GB on PC and 6 GB on mobile. The download process may take some time depending on the network connection, so HoYoLab recommends a stable connection at all times while downloading the resource pack.
After Version 1.2 launches, fans may look forward to a PlayStation 5 version of Honkai: Star Rail, which is currently in development with a Q4 2023 release window. HoYoverse plans on exhibiting Honkai: Star Rail at upcoming expos including Gamescom 2023 and Tokyo Game Show 2023.
