    New Yokai Watch Game is in Development at LEVEL-5

    Too early for a reveal, however.

    After the launch of the Yokai Watch 10th anniversary website, LEVEL-5 CEO Akihiro Hino announced a new Yokai Watch game is in development. The announcement comes just moments after LEVEL-5 revealed its plans for July 2023.

    On Twitter, Hino shared a picture of Yokai Watch merchandise, including Jibanyan and Kamo-san plushes. The LEVEL-5 CEO thanks fans for their continued support and hopes they visit the newly launched website to join the festivities. Hino confirms a new Yokai Watch title is now in development, but it’s still soon for a reveal. 

    New Yokai Watch Game in Development

    “Today is the 10th anniversary of Yokai Watch, said Akihiro Hino on Twitter. “Time has flown by… Thank you for all the celebratory tweets, and please join us as we launch the 10th anniversary special site! We [LEVEL-5] are steadily working on the next game, which incorporates the flow of the Yokai Watch series. It’s still too early for an announcement, but please look forward to it!”

    The Yokai Watch 10th anniversary website is now live with a special new logo commemorating the series. The company thanks Yokai Watch fans for a decade of support in both Japanese and English. In Japan, the company host giveaways on its social media channels, offering free wallpapers, distributing special LINE stickers, and hosting digital Yokai Watch sales in the Nintendo eShop. A Yokai Film Festival” featuring all three Yokai Watch movies will be held from July 11 to 25 on LEVEL-5’s YouTube channel with commentary by voice actors. 

    Finally, the latest title in the long-running Yokai Watch series is Yokai Watch Jam: Yokai Academy Y – Waiwai Gakuen Seikatsu. Yokai Watch Jam: Yokai Academy Y – Waiwai Gakuen Seikatsu released on August 13, 2020 for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in Japan, and the game is not available in the west. A new Yokai Watch game is in development with no confirmed release date or platforms.
