PlayStation has a lot of significant games in development over the next few years. From Spider-Man 2 to a new Naughty Dog game and more, there is still so much we don’t know about PlayStation’s future lineup. Usually, they reveal more about their future in a PlayStation Showcase or a PlayStation State of Play. However, we already had a PlayStation Showcase in May 2023. Which only leaves the State of Play. That said, an official date for a future State of Play has not yet been confirmed. Here’s an overview of when we might see the next PlayStation State of Play.
The Next State of Play
Fans should expect the next State of Play sometime in the Early Fall. This is due to a few factors. Namely, it coincides with other State of Play Dates. In the past, most conferences have been set for the Spring or Summer. However, there are exceptions. For example, in September 2022, a State of Play was released that showed off more information for Sony’s other flagship title, God of War Ragnarok.
An August or September State of Play seems likely, especially as it positions PlayStation to fully establish its Fall/Winter lineup and elaborate more on what to expect from their flagship games in 2023 and beyond.
What Will Be Present at the Next State of Play?
The number one game that fans should expect to see at the next State of Play is Spider-Man 2. Releasing on October 20, it is currently Sony’s biggest game in Fall 2023. You’ll likely see a final story trailer and gameplay showcase a month before its release. There will also be more information revealed about their third-party lineup. Potentially, we could see another trailer for Tekken 8 or DLC information for Street Fighter 6.
It stands to reason that there will be a major reveal of something new. Maybe a new Final Fantasy VII Rebirth trailer or something else entirely. Multiple titles that have been previously revealed are expected to release within the next 12 months. Time will only tell what the next PlayStation State of Play will hold.
PlayStation’s future lineup is sure to be exciting, so stick around for more information as it is revealed.
