Final Fantasy XVI: All Editions Available at Launch

Check out each of the editions available!

Upon launch, several different versions of Final Fantasy XVI will be available. These include the base version, deluxe version, digital deluxe version, and a collector’s edition. This, along with the pre-order bonuses, make it hard to keep track of which version of Final Fantasy XVI is the best version. So, here’s everything you need to know about Final Fantasy XVI‘s purchasable editions before its release on June 22, 2023.

    Base Version

    Final Fantasy XVI for PS5

The base version of Final Fantasy XVI will release on June 22, 2023. It costs $70 and is only available on the PlayStation 5. There are a few pre-order bonuses, however. If you pre-order Final Fantasy XVI, you get access to the following items:

    • “Braveheart” Weapon
    • Gil-boost Accessory “Cait Sith Charm”
    • Exp-boost Accessory “Scholar’s Spectacles”

This is the easiest version to attain and the easiest to understand. You can buy the game digitally or physically at any local/online retailer.

    Deluxe Edition

The Deluxe Edition of Final Fantasy XVI

The Deluxe Edition of Final Fantasy XVI releases on the same date as the base version. However, this version costs 100 dollars and comes with a few more extra goodies. These include special packaging, an exclusive Steelbook case, and a cloth map of Valisthea, the world where the game takes place. This version comes with the aforementioned pre-order bonuses and the base game. However, if you purchase the game from Best Buy, you get an extra Steelbook case exclusively from that retailer. So if you prefer to grab games physically, this is just an added incentive to purchase from Best Buy specifically.

    Digital Deluxe Edition

The Digital Deluxe Edition of Final Fantasy XVI

The digital deluxe edition costs just ten dollars less than the physical deluxe edition. If you prefer to grab games digitally, this is the version for you. This edition once more comes with the aforementioned pre-order bonuses. Additionally, however, the version also comes with a Digital Artbook and Digital Soundtrack. These are accessed through the Square Enix Digital Content Viewer. This comes with the digital deluxe edition at no extra cost and is downloaded automatically upon purchase of this edition.

    Collector’s Edition

    Final Fantasy XVI

The collector’s edition of Final Fantasy XVI costs 350 dollars. For that price, you get the following:

    • Collector’s Box – A beautiful metallic-sheen box featuring impressive artwork by legendary FINAL FANTASY series illustrator, Yoshitaka Amano
    • FINAL FANTASY XVI Game – Base game package, including reversible cover art
    • Premium Statue – Phoenix vs. Ifrit – A premium statue depicting a battle between two eikons – Phoenix and Ifrit
    • Metal Eikon Pin Collection – A premium metal pin collection featuring eight Eikons
    • Special Clive Rosfield SteelBook® Case – A SteelBook case featuring artwork of Clive Rosfield, the protagonist
    • Cloth World Map of Valisthea – A cloth map of Valisthea where the story unfolds
    • Blood Sword (Weapon) DLC – The fabled scarlet steel of Firion, hero of FINAL FANTASY II.

These also come with the aforementioned pre-order bonuses. Unfortunately, however, there are no digital markets that have the collector’s edition available. The edition is available on eBay but for prices that go beyond 600 dollars. There’s a chance, however, that upon the release of Final Fantasy XVI, new versions of the collector’s edition will be available for purchase, but it’s hard to say at this point.

    Release Information

Final Fantasy XVI, along with each of the aforementioned editions, will be available on June 22, 2023. Most of the editions will be available at local/online retailers. The only exception is the Digital Deluxe version which is available on the PlayStation Store. So as you decide which version of Final Fantasy XVI to purchase, mind your wallet as well as which options are most convenient for you.
