Geoff Keighley just confirmed that Summer Game Fest will be returning in June 2024. This announcement comes as Summer Game Fest 2023 continued today with Xbox Games Showcase Extended 2023. The announcement didn’t confirm a lot of information, but Keighley promised that more information is yet to come.
Summer Game Fest was first started in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. E3 had been canceled earlier that year, and with 2020 set to be a major year for the industry, there had to be an alternative. Keighley came up with Game Fest and for the last three years, the event has been a new staple in the industry, especially after E3’s cancellation.
What to Expect
Geoff Keighley recently came to Twitter to officially confirm that Summer Game Fest will return in 2024. The tweet stated the following:
The Future of Summer Game Fest
Fans can expect the event to be somewhere in the first two weeks of June. This would be in line with prior iterations. And with the future of E3 currently uncertain, it seems that Game Fest will continue to be the way that the industry lets consumers in on the projects they are working on.
