Ubisoft just announced a crossover between Jet Set Radio and their free-to-play PvP game, Roller Champions. Roller Champions is a fairly recent new IP from Ubisoft released in 2022. The crossover was revealed in a quick sizzle reel from the Ubisoft Showcase, alongside a release date of June 27th.
Jet Set Radiooooooo!
The trailer shows off Beat and Gum on a brand new map titled “Tokyo-To Skatepark”. There will also be a brand new “JSR Themed Goal Explosion”. Additionally, the crossover seems to capture the art style and music of Jet Set Radio. It’s unknown if series composer Hideki Naganuma will return to create pieces for the crossover.
Here is the description of the trailer: “Get ready to roll into Tokyoto Champions! We are thrilled to announce that the iconic Sega’s Jet Set Radio will bring the beat to the rink on June 27. Stay tuned for more updates coming soon!”
Roller Champions is described by Ubisoft as “a 3v3 sports game where you go head-to-head against the opposing team through speed, wit, crushing tackles, and daring dodges! Be the first team to reach five points by throwing the ball through the hoop!”
Release Information
The Jet Set Radio x Roller Champions update will release on June 27th. Roller Champions is currently available now for free on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, as well as the Nintendo Switch. The Jet Set Radio franchise hasn’t been seen in more than twenty years, apart from small internal crossovers here and there with games such as Monkey Ball. In the same sizzle reel, Ubisoft also confirmed that the Rayman DLC for Mario + Rabbids: A Spark of Hope would be coming later this year. The company also showcased a crossover between Brawlhalla and Halo.
