Wave 2 Xenoblade Chronicles Icons Released for Nintendo Switch Online

I think we need another Fiora icon.

Nintendo released Wave 2 of the Xenoblade Chronicles series icons, available exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online members tonight. This wave contains characters from the first game in the series, Xenoblade Chronicles.

The amount of icons is fantastic for this Wave, with all the official art of the party members available for you to choose from. This includes the art from the original 2010 release and the renders used for Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition, the remaster released on May 29, 2020. Additionally, even Shulk and Fiora’s Blade art from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 DLC is present.

Wave 1 of this icon series contained characters from Wave 4 of the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Expansion Pass, titled Future Redeemed. This includes Matthew, A, Nikol, Glimmer, Shulk, and Rex. Additionally, Ino and Masha, DLC Heroes, were also added as icons through Wave 1. Chibi forms for all of these characters are, of course, present as well.

Wave 3 of the series looks to bring the cast of Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Judging from the first two waves, we should expect almost every major party member and antagonist to make an appearance as a character icon on Switch. You can expect to see Mythra, Pyra, Rex, and the rest of the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 cast next Thursday.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 already received icons right after the game’s launch; however, Wave 4 and Wave 5 of this icon series will bring in the missing chibi art for Heroes and spoiler artwork that was not included with the main game’s icon wave. So far, N and M have been teased, but I suspect Melia and Nia’s Hero art will also make an appearance as a Xenoblade Chronicles 3 character icon for Nintendo Switch Online members.

The Xenoblade Chronicles series has lots of merchandise to be released within the next month. In June, the long-awaited Nia figure will finally release, which can be purchased on GoodSmile.

Additionally, multiple releases of soundtracks for the Xenoblade Chronicles series are set to be released in late July. There is a Limited and Standard edition for Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and a standard edition for Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition.

Lastly, a Trinity Box set containing music from all three mainline titles will additionally release alongside the above collections.
