Mortal Kombat 1 Revealed, Launching This September on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PC, & Switch

    Get Over Here!

NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Games have revealed Mortal Kombat 1, the next title in the long-running and storied series. This game takes place after the events of Mortal Kombat 11, which reset the timeline, making “Mortal Kombat 12” a reboot. It was initially confirmed in February of this year that the next title in the series would drop sometime in 2023. The new title, MK1, will release on September 19, 2023.

The trailer can be viewed below.

This announcement was teased throughout the past month by studio head Ed Boon, with an official teaser of the trailer having dropped yesterday, May 17. This teaser showcased a clock stopped at 1 with the glass breaking, signifying a reboot.

There are a total of three different editions of the game. The standard edition will cost $69.99 across PlayStation 5 and Xbox, while only costing $59.99 on PC and Nintendo Switch. After this, there is a Premium edition retailing for $109.99 across all platforms. Finally, the Kollector’s Edition will run you up to $249.99, with this edition only being available physically for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC (sorry Switch owners). So, to recap:

    • Standard Edition – $69.99 [PS5/XSX/PC/NSW]
    • Premium Edition – $109.99 [PS5/XSX/PC/NSW]
    • Kollector’s Edition – $249.99 [PS5/XSX]

With next week’s PlayStation Showcase and Summer Games Fest on the horizon, it is entirely plausible that we’ll be seeing more of Mortal Kombat 1 very soon. Pre-orders for the title go live tomorrow, May 19.

Mortal Kombat 1 releases on September 19 across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Switch. Stay tuned to Final Weapon for the latest on Mortal Kombat!
