    Sonic Frontiers Surpasses 3 Million Copies Sold

    SEGA announced Sonic Frontiers surpassed three million copies sold worldwide across all platforms as of March 22, 2023. The game would reach the major sales milestone as the new “Sights, Sounds, and Speed” update launches today.

    Over 3 Million Copies Sold

    The latest sales figures for Sonic Frontiers include physical shipments and digital copies sold since the worldwide launch on November 8, 2022. Roughly 500,000 copies of Sonic Frontiers were sold since SEGA’s previous sales update on December 12, 2022. Sonic Frontiers sales are expected to increase even further according to SEGA’s recent investor’s Q&A

    SEGA states the Metacritic score for Sonic Frontiers was lower than expected. However, the high user score shows glowing fan reception for the game. The company believes Sonic Frontiers is a widely accepted title, and sales will continue to grow as new updates launch. The first of three major updates is about to make its debut for Sonic Frontiers

    New Update

    The Sonic Frontiers “Sights, Sounds, and Speed” update adds Cyber Space Challenge, which is a time-attack mode where players race against the clock to complete multiple Cyber Space stages in a row. Additionally, the new update adds Battle Rush, a mode where players face off against Guardians and Titans in a timed battles. These newly added modes are available after completing the main story of Sonic Frontiers.

    The new update also brings a Photo Mode, which may be accessed in the pause menu. As the name suggests, Photo Mode allows players to take photos of their favorite gameplay moments in Sonic Frontiers. Further, the update adds the new Jukebox feature with up to 53 song tracks. Only 13 songs are available at the start, and the other 40 songs are waiting to be discovered in Starfall Island as Sound Memories. 

    Two more updates are on the way in 2023. Lastly, Sonic Frontiers is available now for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam worldwide.
