Like a Dragon: Ishin! – How to Earn More Virtue

Help Ryoma become a virtuous samurai.

Virtue is one of the prominent currencies in Like a Dragon: Ishin! alongside the Japanese ryo and mon. Players may obtain Virtue by completing activities and obtaining in-game achievements found in Diligence Records. The ability to earn Virtue is unlocked really early in Like a Dragon: Ishin! after talking to the Shinto Priest in Fushimi, Kyo. Virtue may be used for several important upgrades/bonuses such as greater trooper card capacity, more farming land, and larger sprints.

At first, accruing a large sum of Virtue may seem tedious, but content really opens up after the first few chapters of Like a Dragon: Ishin!. Players gain access to mini-games, sub-quests, and friendship bonds rather quickly. As a result, Virtue becomes much easier to obtain, and there are plenty of ways to maximize those Virtue gains. This guide provides great tips for earning Virtue in Like a Dragon: Ishin!.

    Supporting Local Businesses in Kyo

Shops and restaurants are a great source of Virtue in Like a Dragon: Ishin!. Many shop and restaurant owners may become friends with Ryoma, allowing players to earn Virtue by supporting them and purchasing items or meals. Coincidentally, supporting shops, maxing out friendship bonds, and completing sub-quests count toward progressing each district’s reputation level. A large sum of Virtue is gained by leveling up Ryoma’s reputation, so be sure to check out shops and help the folks of Kyo.

Farm Life Yields More Than Crops

Another Life is a very reliable source since every crop harvested awards Virtue. Diligence Records contains many entries relating to Another Life, which means players can literally harvest tons of Virtue throughout a playthrough. For instance, planting and harvesting 100 potatoes on Ryoma’s farm meets one of the Diligence Records entries. As a reminder, Diligence Records entries all award Virtue upon completion, so it’s worth keeping up with from time to time. Crops may be used to fulfill orders or cook food at Ryoma and Haruka’s house, which ultimately help toward gathering more Virtue.

Spend Virtue for a Higher Return

Various Virtue upgrades are available from shrines that allow Ryoma to gain more Virtue from all sources in Like a Dragon: Ishin!. In short, players are incentivized to spend Virtue in order to gain more of it throughout the course of the game. Once available, these upgrades should be a priority before pursuing more side content.

Lastly, Like a Dragon: Ishin! is available now for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
