Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana Announced for Switch

Ys: The Oath of Felghana finally receives a modern console release.

Falcom announced Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana for Nintendo Switch, an upcoming Ys remaster launching in spring 2023 in Japan.

Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana is a high-definition remaster of Ys: The Oath in Felghana from the PlayStation Portable. Many enhancements were made for the Nintendo Switch release, and players may switch between “Refine” and “Old” versions of the game’s illustrations.

    New Voice Acting

The remaster features voiced events and dialogue with over 30 characters including protagonist Adol Christin. Adol is voiced by Yuji Kaji, and the game is narrated by Banjou Ginga. As a result, players may enjoy a more dramatic depiction of the main story with these new voiceovers.

    Remastered Visuals and Sound

Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana features high-definition visuals and image quality, which extends to the game’s new illustrations. Sound effects and background music were also enhanced to meet the quality expected of an HD remaster. Further, players may switch between background music from the original version, PC-8801 version, and X68000 version.

    High-Speed and Support Features

Players can expect modern features such a a high-speed mode, which increases game movement on the field and battle by 1.5 to 2 times the normal speed. High-speed mode may be enabled with a single button press just like prior Falcom releases that included the feature. Moreover, the game now includes a “No Fall” beginner setting, which allows players to recover instantly after taking damage from a high place.

According to Falcom, more unannounced Nintendo Switch games are on the way, and more details will be revealed at a later date. In the meantime, Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana’s official website may be visited here.
