With the release of Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion, many might be wondering just who Zack Fair’s new voice actor is. While he did appear in Final Fantasy VII Remake, it was very brief. Caleb Pierce is the new voice actor for Zack Fair, replacing Rick Gomez.
Who Is Caleb Pierce?
Caleb Pierce is mostly known for a YouTube series called Roommates, however, he also starred in episodes of Grey’s Anatomy and The Big Bang Theory. He first started voicing Zack Fair in Final Fantasy VII Remake, which was released on April 3, 2020. This was his first voice-acting role in a video game.
Caleb will return to voice Zack in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, where Creative Director Tetsuya Nomura says “Zack will play a major role”. Rebirth is scheduled to release in Winter 2023, exclusively for PlayStation 5.
Why Did Zack’s Voice Actor Switch?
With the REMAKE project, Square Enix recasted the entirety of the Final Fantasy VII cast. This includes all characters, such as Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, and yes, Zack.
In Crisis Core Reunion, there is currently no “legacy” option utilizing the old voice cast, though many fans have called for this addition in the months leading up to launch.
