    Ghost Story Games Announces Judas

    Published:

Boston-based studio Ghost Story Games, led by Ken Levine (creator of System Shock 2, Bioshock) has announced single-player narrative driven first-person shooter Judas for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC at The Game Awards 2022. Ken Levine serves as Creative Director on the title.

Apart from the mysterious trailer that raises far more questions than it answers, Ghost Story Games’s only other hint as to what to expect from Judas is a brief passage on the game’s concept:

    • A disintegrating starship. A desperate escape plan. You are the mysterious and troubled Judas. Your only hope for survival is to make or break alliances with your worst enemies. Will you work together to fix what you broke – or will you leave it to burn?

Judas’ art style is reminiscent of the creator’s last IP, and it appears players will have access to “plasmid”-like powers via their left hand. From this trailer, it wouldn’t be hard to argue that Judas appears to be something of a spiritual successor to Bioshock. With a new Bioshock title in development, the current situation is reminiscent of the recent (and ongoing) The Callisto Protocol/Dead Space Remake face-off. Ghost Story Games has been rumored to have been working on the title for quite some time. Stay tuned to Final Weapon for more on this new game.
