After years in dormancy, Armored core is making its return, Armored Core VI Fire of Rubicon. Not much was shown in a gameplay-sense, however the tone of the game was definitely set in stone.
What is Armored Core?
Armored Core is an action-mecha series where you customize a battle mech and partake in missions. The series has in-depth mech building where you can pick and choose different parts and weapons (within your budget) in order to help you accomplish missions as efficiently as possible. The trailer suggests that the new entry will keep the desolate tone and probably expand on the themes of humanity’s fall to corporate greed. Fans of FromSoftware’s Souls series should still look forward to this game! Armored Core as a series still has many of the story and lore staples that their more popular Souls series wears like a badge. The games even have literal mecha builds, so it’ll be interesting to see if this game retains that aspect, and even more interesting to see what players will make!
Produced by Bandai Namco and Developed by FromSoftware, Armored Core VI is coming in 2023! Launching on PS4/5, XBOX ONE/Series S/X, and PC via Steam!
