Arika announced Tetris The Grand Master is coming to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 as a brand-new Arcade Archives title. Players will test their skill and dedication to earn the rank of Grand Master nearly 24 years after the original arcade release.
According to Arika, the company licensed the classic Tetris title to Hamster for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 porting. Hamster is well known for developing the vast lineup of Arcade Archives titles. The Arcade Archives titles cover a wide range of consoles including NEOGEO, Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, and Japanese arcades.
Before the release of Arcade Archives Tetris The Grand Master, Arcade Archives Galaxian will launch on November 24. Galaxian is the first game in the Arcade Archives franchise to have originated from the 1970s. The upcoming releases represent decades of evolution for arcade technology according to Hamster.
The launch of Tetris The Grand Master commemorates 300 weeks of consistent Arcade Archives releases by Hamster. Players may purchase the new Archive Archives title digitally on December 1 worldwide for $7.99 via Nintendo Switch (Nintendo eShop) and PlayStation 4 (PlayStation Store).
