Team NINJA recently held a G-STAR 2022 keynote in Busan, South Korea this weekend, revealing plans to reboot the Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden franchises.
According to Team NINJA president Fumihiko Yasuda, the studio plans to reboot popular game series such as Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden after the releases of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty and Rise of Ronin. Yasuda made the announcement near the end of the keynote with a slide reading “Team NINJA’s Future – Reboot of Popular Series,” which depicts Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden. Yasuda did not share further details about the reboots, however (Thanks, Free Step Dodge).
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty releases first in early March 2023 while open-world action RPG Rise of Ronin is scheduled for a 2024 release as a PlayStation-console exclusive. The timeframe suggests Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden reboots won’t arrive until 2024 at the earliest. However, release windows are always subject to change due to development circumstances.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty releases March 3, 2023 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Rise of Ronin releases in 2024 for PlayStation 5.
Dead or Alive 6, the latest game in the Dead or Alive series, is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
