With Kingdom Hearts IV’s reveal earlier this year, there have been countless conversations with fans asking when will Kingdom Hearts IV release. KHIV is the next mainline game in the Kingdom Hearts series, following Kingdom Hearts III, which released back in 2019. Here is everything you need to know about Kingdom Hearts IV’s release date.
When Will Kingdom Hearts IV Release?
At this time, we do not know when Kingdom Hearts IV will officially release. Square Enix has yet to reveal the release date for the long awaited title, but hopefully we will be receiving more information regarding the date soon.
Kingdom Hearts IV was revealed back in April of this year at the Kingdom Hearts 20th anniverary event. This event also revealed Missing Link, a brand new mobile game that is scheduled to come out with a beta this year at some point.
As for when we could receive a new trailer for Kingdom Hearts IV, our bet would be sometime in 2023. Development for the title began as early as January 2020, meaning this January will mark three years of development time so far. A 2023 release would be quite surprising, especially considering Final Fantasy XVI and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth are both scheduled for Summer and Winter of next year respectively. A 2023 in depth trailer around E3 feels very likely, with perhaps a 2024 release target revealed during.
The trailer for Kingdom Hearts IV showcased someone who appears to be Sora in Quadratum, the location that appeared at the end of Kingdom Hearts III. The trailer also showed two cloaked figures, one of which assuredly being the Master of Masters.
