Square Enix filed a Japanese trademark for Symbiogenesis on October 13, which was made public on October 24 (JST).
Symbiogenesis is “the merging of two separate organisms to form a single new organism.” The term is used within Square Enix’s Parasite Eve series, which began as a novel in 1995. Parasite Eve would go on to receive multiple game adaptations across PlayStation hardware such as the original PlayStation and PlayStation Portable.
