Gotham Knights to run at 30 FPS on consoles without performance options

Due to the game's "fully untethered co-op experience."

WB Games Montreal executive producer Fleur Marty confirmed Gotham Knights runs at 30 FPS (frames per second) on consoles without performance options.

Marty made the announcement in the official Gotham Knights Discord server with mixed reception from fans. According to Marty, performance options were not implemented into the console versions due to the game’s “fully untethered co-op experience.” Lowering the resolution and game settings would not result in guaranteed higher FPS. As a result, performance options were omitted from the console versions in favor of a stable 30 FPS in Gotham Knights. The situation puts the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One cancellations into perspective.

The full statement is available below via Wario64:

    “Hello everyone,

I know many of you are wondering about the availability of a performance mode for Gotham Knights on consoles. Due to the types of features we have in our game, like providing a fully untethered co-op experience in our highly detailed open-world, it’s not as straightforward as lowering the resolution and getting a higher FPS. For this reason, our game does not have a performance/quality toggle option and will run at 30FPS on consoles.”

Lastly, Gotham Knights releases October 21 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
