    Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is shattering records at box office and achieves the highest global opening in anime film history.

    Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero opened to over $20 million at the box office in North America. The total contains box office sales from Thursday, August 18, to Sunday, August 21. Crunchyroll, the film distributor, says the anime film scored the best global opening ever for an anime film. The film is playing in over 3,000 theaters across the entire region.

    Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero doubled the domestic box office opening of Dragon Ball Super: Broly from 2018. Dragon Ball Super: Broly opened to $9.8 million across 1,200 theaters at the time of launch.

    Outside of North America, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero opened to roughly $12 million across 32 markets.
