Following the release of Final Fantasy XIV patch 6.18, Square Enix announced the Data Center Travel feature is temporarily suspended.
The Data Center Travel feature in Final Fantasy XIV is temporarily suspended due to high server load. Over 15,000 visit requests per minute were recorded by Square Enix and servers currently cannot handle such a load. As a result, the feature is disabled as the development team works to resolve the issues. Square Enix will open Data Center Travel gradually as the development team monitors the situation.
Square Enix issued the following statement through Final Fantasy XIV Lodestone:
“We have received over 15,000 visit requests per minute and confirmed that the servers are unable to keep up with the high server load.
Due to the number of requests which makes it difficult to resolve the issue while keeping the Data Center Travel system open, we will temporarily suspend the Data Center Travel system and gradually open this feature as we monitor the situation.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”
Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.2: Buried Memory releases this August. Lastly, Final Fantasy XIV and the latest expansion, Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker, are available now for PS4, PS5, and PC.
