SEGA is looking to adapt Atlus franchises such as Persona into potential live-action TV series and movies with various studios.
In an interview with IGN, SEGA head of entertainment productions film and TV Toru Nakahara said, “Atlus’ worlds are filled with high drama, cutting-edge style and compelling characters. Stories like those from the Persona franchise really resonate with our fans and we see an opportunity to expand the lore like no one has seen — or played — before. Together, Sega and Atlus, are working to bring these stories and worlds to life through new mediums and for new audiences.”
As the Persona 25th Anniversary celebration continues on, interest in the franchise grows. SEGA likely aims to capitalize on the popularity of Persona with the aforementioned live-action TV and movie adaptations. Further details regarding the potential live-action TV and movies were not revealed by SEGA.
The Persona series is finally heading to all major platforms with the new releases of Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal. All three games will be available now PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC via Steam.
Lastly, Persona 5 Royal releases on October 21 for PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC via Steam.
