One Piece Odyssey battle system details and screenshots revealed

Bandai Namco revealed battle system details and screenshots for upcoming anime JRPG One Piece Odyssey. The new game features a turn-based combat system, allowing players to take individual control of the Straw Hat Pirates in action. Gameplay is separated into two categories: Adventure and Battle. As implied, Adventure allows players to explore the island and use unique traversal abilities. These traversal abilities include Luffy’s Gum-Gum Fruit powers and Franky’s machinery skills.

In Battle, the Straw Hat Pirates play an active role in combat unique to One Piece. By selecting the appropriate attack range at the beginning of a battle, the party has an advantage. Dramatic scenes may occur in battle, leading to big bonuses. Under the right conditions, the Straw Hats may unleash powerful combination attacks called Bond Arts.
