Konami plans to change company name to Konami Group Corporation

Konami announced that a shareholder’s meeting is set for July 1st, 2022 with potential name changing ramifications. The company is aiming to rename itself to Konami Group Corporation with the goal of further growth and taking on new challenges. The name change would coincide with the 50th anniversary of the company, but needs to be approved by shareholders.

Konami’s current fiscal year marks the 50th in the company’s history. Konami was founded in March 1973 and would become a major company in the decades to follow.
