Kingdom Hearts IV was recently revealed and some more details have come to light following the KH 20th Anniversary event (Thanks, @toro_cocoron0te via KH13.com)! More news about Kingdom Hearts IV is coming “way after E3’s period” which refers to Summer 2022 since E3 is cancelled this year.
All of the footage from the reveal trailer was rendered in real-time with Unreal Engine 4. However, the full game is being developed with Unreal Engine 5. KH IV’s logo style is different thanks to the beginning of a new saga, The Lost Master Arc. A lot of this information was revealed promptly to avoid a potential early leak.
A new world is currently in development for KH IV. Originally, the team had to decide to make KH IV or Verum Rex as the direct follow up in the series. KH IV was ultimately decided due to concern that the Verum Rex title would not connect to Sora and the events following KH III. Lastly, it’s implied that the narrator’s voice in the trailer is a familiar character to fans (possibly young Xehanort).
We can’t wait to share more news about Kingdom Hearts IV, so stay tuned at Final Weapon for the latest news and updates!
