Nintendo and The Pokémon Company announced that Pokémon Bank will become free starting in March 2023. This means that players on 3DS may finally use the service at no additional cost. The service is useful for transferring Pokémon over to Pokémon Home, the successor on Switch. Players who don’t already have Pokémon Bank downloaded or redeemed on their 3DS should do so before purchases are discontinued in March 2023. As a reminder, purchased/redeemed content and free software updates on 3DS may still be redownloaded. Lastly, there’s no current end date for Pokémon Bank’s free service.
