Famitsu’s year-end issue for 2021 featured an interesting series of interviews witb Japanese developers including Atlus product manager Shinjiro Takada. According to Takada, Atlus hopes to release a major title in 2022. This game will “become a pillar” for Atlus going forward. Shin Megami Tensei V’s development wrapped up this year and with a breather, Takada wants fans to look forward to 2022 with more announcements. Here’s what he had to say, courtesy of Persona Central:
“I chose “challenge” as the keyword for 2022, with the hope to release a game that will become a pillar for Atlus. All of us at Atlus are working hard to develop this game so that it will be interesting and satisfying for everyone, so please look forward to it.
Shin Megami Tensei V‘s development has just come to an end, and I’m taking a breather, but I‘m sure I’ll be able to announce something this year (2022) as well, so look forward to it!”
Fans could see the return of Project Re Fantasy and Atlus has more Persona announcements in store for 2022. Time will tell how exactly it all comes together in the new year for Atlus. In the meantime, stay tuned at Final Weapon for the latest Japanese gaming news and updates!
