Suda51 has started pre-production of his next project, Grasshopper Manufacture’s 10 year plan includes IP revivals

In a new interview at VGC, Suda51 shared his current status at Grasshopper Manufacture along with more details about the company’s 10 year project. According to Suda51, he’s started pre-production of his next project at the studio. Suda51 states that he would like to focus on fully original IPs for the next decade.

Additionally, he mentions that Grasshopper Manufacture’s 10 year plan includes possible reboots and IP revivals. This includes both older IPs from Grasshopper Manufacture and attempts to license dormant franchises from other companies. Specifically, he mentions dormant franchises from his frequent collaborator, Nintendo. 3 new IPs from Grasshopper Manufacture will release within the next ten years as previously reported. Suda51 fans have a lot to look forward to in the near future (Thanks, VGC)!

“We’ve got a general plan in place for the next ten years. At this point, we’re planning on doing three titles over the next decade: three new IPs. We’ve actually already begun the pre-production stuff on the first title, but I can’t say anything about it just yet.

With regard to the three new IPs I mentioned, we may actually go a slightly different route.. What I mean is, we may actually decide to do like one new, original IP – the one we’re working on now – and then make a game version of an existing IP for our second game, and then go back and do another new one for the third one.

There are a few games from back in the day that I’d like to get my hands on and try to do a reboot or a remake of some kind, or we may get approached by the right company with the right IP and decide to go with that… We’ll see how things work out.”
