HIDIVE exits their channel partner agreement with VRV, plans to expand their anime streaming service

HIDIVE announced that they’ve exited their channel partner agreement with VRV as of September 8th, 2021. Users will no longer be able to access HIDIVE from VRV starting on September 30th, 2021. This is likely due to Sony’s recent acquisition of Crunchyroll, which owns the VRV platform. HIDIVE plans to focus on their anime streaming platform along with expanding their service. Here’s what founder John Ledford had to say:

“While we have greatly enjoyed our channel partnership and our nearly 3-year run with VRV, it’s time for HIDIVE to re-focus our efforts toward HIDIVE owned and operated services,” said HIDIVE president and founder John Ledford. “HIDIVE will continue to stream the anime fans love most while expanding HIDIVE’s ability to reach fans however they choose to consume that exciting content.”
