Intel announced today that they’re entering the GPU market in Q1 2022 with Arc! Arc is formerly known as DG2 and “Alchemist”. Arc provides gaming GPU performance that seems to rival AMD and Nvidia in the laptop and desktop space. Intel is also promising a competitor to AMD’s FSR and Nvidia’s DLSS 2.0 with Arc. *Update* VP of Intel Graphics Research Anton Kaplanyan shared some more important details about the upcoming Intel Arc GPUs. According to Kaplanyan, the new GPUs feature full DirectX12 Ultimate support, mesh shading and high-performance ray tracing. Additionally, the new super sampling technology to rival FSR and DLSS 2.0 will be made as a separate announcement coming later this year.
