On April 6th, Konami filed trademarks for Akumajou Dracula, the Japanese name of the Castlevania series, and Metal Gear Rising in Japan. The trademarks were made public on April 19th. It remains to be seen if Konami finally remasters more Castlevania games like the Anniversary Collection but we hope so. It’s very likely that these trademark renewals are just to maintain rights to the IPs. Konami has been more active in game development so there’s some hope for Castlevania. Unfortunately, Metal Gear Rising will most likely remain a dormant IP.
