Atlus’ licensing rights of the Utawarerumono series have expired and unfortunately, this means that the company can no longer publish the games in the west. As a result, the PS4 and PS Vita versions of Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception and Mask of Truth have been delisted. Fortunately, the Steam versions of both games are still up thanks to publishing by DMM Games. These JRPGs are relatively easy to run on PC and you can check those out here (Mask of Deception) and here (Mask of Truth). Both games are 50% until January 29th so now is a great time to check out the series on Steam.
Currently, there’s no word if Mask of Deception and Mask of Truth will return to the PS4 and PS Vita stores. We will have to wait for an update which may come in the next week or so. Stay tuned at Final Weapon for the latest Japanese gaming news and updates!
