Digitimes has reported that the PS5 has shipped 3.4 million units in the first 4 weeks of release! This is the highest launch shipments for a PlayStation console ever. Production of the PS5 are set to reach 16.8 – 18 million units in 2021 according to industry sources. This is “fueled by additional capacity support” by TSMC. TSMC develops the custom AMD Zen 2 CPU in the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
