Nintendo to pull Super Mario Maker from Wii U eShop on January 12th, 2021, terminating Online Services for the game on March 31st, 2021

Nintendo has announced that they will be pulling the original Super Mario Maker from the Wii U eShop. This will happen on January 21st, 2021. Along side that they will also terminate online service for the game. That means no more uploading or liking courses. The game will only be able to play in offline mode.

Super Mario Maker was still played over it’s sequel Super Mario Maker 2 as it had the exclusive amiibo costumes. It is sad to see another game be pulled, especially when the sequel has also stopped receiving content support.
