PS4 backwards compatibility rumors may be put to rest now as PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan has confirmed that “99% of PS4 games” may be played on PS5! Ryan says thousands of PS4 games were tested on the platform to ensure compatibility. The company’s PlayStation Plus Collection offers games that PS5 owners may play if they don’t have the respective copy of the game on PS4. Additionally, the CEO talks about the expected life-span of the PS4 from here on out:

“The PS4 community will continue to be incredibly important to us for three or four years,” Ryan said. “Many will transition to PS5, we hope if we do our job well, but tens of millions will still be engaged with the PS4.”

Lastly, PS5 releases on November 12th. Stay tuned at Final Weapon for the latest Japanese gaming news!
