FFXVI is a single-player action RPG with Producer Naoki Yoshida and Director Hiroshi Takai at the helm. Their combined backgrounds span some of Square Enix’s most iconic JRPGs including:

- Final Fantasy V
- Final Fantasy XI
- Final Fantasy XIV
The footage shown today in both gameplay and cutscenes were running in real-time so the game will look as amazing as it did running on the PS5. The game takes players to high fantasy, the roots of the Final Fantasy franchise and the struggle of the Crystals.
